Full Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (4265 ft / 1300 meters)

Upon arrival you will be met and assisted by a Ker & Downey representative and transferred to the Gokarna Forest Resort. Gokarna Forest Resort is located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest, up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for golf, enchanting forest walks, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, as well as time close to nature.

Day 2: Trek to Gurung lodge (4756ft/1450m)

After an optional early morning flight to Mount Everest, we fly to Pokhara (3300 ft /1000 m). We’ll have a briefing at the Ker & Downey head office before we transfer by road with guides & porters to our trek start point {1-hour}. Our walk will follow a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurnas with surrounding views of the Pokhara Valley. And the Modi valley where Ker & Downey's Gurung lodge is located. The lodge has magnificent views of the surrounding Annapurna range. In the afternoon, we will explore one of the local villages.

Day 3: Gurung Lodge

In the morning after a leisurely breakfast with the mountains as a backdrop, we will take a hike to the bee village where we met the mayor and have tea in his house. He will then show us around his village including a visit to the local school. Lunch will be a traditional Nepalese meal served in one of the village houses. After lunch, you may choose to do a hike up to the nearby village of Tanchok, where there is a traditional house now made into a museum. The contents of the house illustrate how the local people live, together with the tools and implements of day to day traditional village life. You may also choose to visit the local school. Trek time 1-2 hours.

Day 4: Trek to Pokhara (2640 ft /830 m)

After breakfast, we depart along the ridge & descend through the wooded hillside and terraced farmland to the roadhead. Trek time 1 ½ hours. We then transfer by vehicle to the Temple Tree Resort in Pokhara (30 minutes). On the way back to Pokhara, the vehicle can stop on request at the Tibetan refugee camp where you will have time to explore the temple complex. We’ll arrive at the centrally located Temple Tree Resort in time for lunch. The rooms at the Temple Tree are filled with ethnic touches. Surrounding the rooms are landscaped gardens, water features, a swimming pool and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. For lunch we’ll take you to Jiva Café and Spa, located at a tranquil lakefront setting. Suggested Dinner venue will be at the lively and popular Moondance restaurant. The afternoon is free to explore the lakeside where most of Nepal’s Tibetan curio shops are located.

Day 5: Bandipur (1000 ft / 300m)

This morning we transfer to Bandipur, a journey of some 2 hours through the countryside. Here we check into our traditional town lodge. In the afternoon, we explore this Newari town that has retained much of its traditional architecture and ways.

Day 6: Panorama Lodge

Today we leave Bandipur and trek for an easy three hours to the Panorama lodge which as its name suggests has amazing views of the Himalayas and surrounding valley. In the afternoon, we will explore the local Gurung tribal village which is rarely visited by any foreigners . We will have tea in a local house and watch the villages as they brew their rice and millet wines.

Day 7: Seti River Camp

After breakfast we begin our trek through unspoilt countryside to the Seti River Camp. The walk allows us magnificent views from the ridgeline. We also hike through surrounding forests and remote nearby villages where no other travel companies go. We then descend to the river bank where our camp is located. After our hike, we can take a dip in the river. Lunch is at the camp. The afternoon is free to explore the landscaped gardens, riverbank, or just relax in a hammock or tree house. Evenings are spent around an open fire of driftwood, at this unique safari-style river camp.

Day 8: Kasara Resort (500ft / 150m)

The morning is spent rafting. There are 5 class 2 rapids or you can hike to the roadhead 4 hours. The remainder of the trip is a float. On completion of the rafting, we transfer by vehicle to the border area of Chitwan National Park, enjoying a packed lunch en route (a journey of some 2 hours.) On arrival at the resort, we will receive a briefing prior to an afternoon safari or nature walk. Overnight Kasara Resort (B, L, D)

Day 9: Kasara Resort (500ft / 150m)

The day is spent game viewing on elephant back and on foot. There are also lectures on the wildlife of the Park. Boat trips are available on request.

Day 10: Kathmandu (1300 m / 4265ft)

After early morning game viewing and breakfast at the resort, we will be transferred to the airfield. We’ll have a light lunch here before our 30-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll visit Boudhanath. Boudhanath is the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal and is surrounded by monasteries. We’ll then return to the hotel where the rest of the day is free.

Day 11: Kathmandu

After breakfast we leave with our guide for Bhaktapur one of the old capitals of the Kathmandu valley. The town allows no access to vehicles and is a maze of old temples and homes. Many of the artisans of Kathmandu practice their trades here. We then continue to Patan where we have a late lunch at the fascinating museum which hold many of the treasures of the valley. After lunch, we have time to explore and shop in this fascinating area before returning to the hotel.

Day 12: Depart

Transfer to the airport for you international departure. (B)
